TACT Scholarship Program
The Association of Chinese Teachers (TACT) invites SFUSD Chinese American high school seniors who will graduate in June 2025 to participate in its scholarship program.
TACT will award approximately 30 scholarships of $2000-$3000 to students whose goals will benefit their community.
Applicants are required to complete an application form and submit it with 1-2 letters of recommendation and transcript by February 28, 2025 @ 11:59 PM.
We highly encourage students who are interested in entering the field of Education to apply. At least one scholarship has been set aside for students whose career choice is to be a bilingual teacher. Another scholarship will support an outstanding student who is applying to a pre-nursing program

Looking back at TACT’s Teachers Teaching Teachers (TTT) event on November 16, 2024

TACT’s Teachers Teaching Teachers (TTT) professional development workshop on November 16th was a resounding success. The theme was Social Studies-Literacy integration and 62 educators PreK-12 participated. You can find all workshop resources in the TTT 1-pager.
In order for TACT to continue to offer free events to educators, we need to share with donors and sponsors the impact of our work. Please take a few minutes to complete the TTT feedback form if you have not done so. We will send you your choice of ONE free book if you have not received one already. Please share testimonials and show us how you are using TACT resources at curriculum@tactsf.org!! See photos from the TTT here.
Here are a few highlights from our TTT feedback responses:
“Learned about TACT and the various resource[es] they offer to teachers. These sessions helped fill in a lot of the gaps from the district curriculum.”
“Read Aloud is a great way to teach and to build knowledge to young students.”
“Reminder that oral history and personal stories are worth exploring with our students; Zines can be used in so many different ways!”
“I have never heard of Mamie Tape. Her story definitely added to my knowledge of AAPI. I grew up a few blocks away from the current Spring Valley site and never knew the history. I was enlightened today by her story and appreciate what Mamie Tape and her family did to fight for equal rights and opportunities.”
Three Cantonese-Bilingual teachers applied for and received a $200 grant after attending the TTT. See information on how to apply here.
